Valley Anglers provides a full-service fly fishing experience. Guided tours run on full-day or half-day rates. Full days run approximately 8 hours with fluctuations depending on location, number of participants, weather, and other factors.
Here's what you get when you embark on a guided fly fishing experience with Valley Anglers:
Fly Fishing Equipment - Valley Anglers provides state-of-the-art fly fishing equipment necessary for a positive experience out on the river. Appropriate fly rods, reels, and flies will be provided based on skill-level, fish species, natural fly life cycle, and season.
Equipment on the River - During the tour, you will be guided into areas where wading into the river is required (sometimes waist deep if you're feel adventurous). Valley Anglers provides waterproof waders and boots for all participants. The waders will keep you dry while navigating through the waters to get to the most preferred fishing spots, and the felt-bottom boots will help keep good traction on the slippery rocks beneath the surface.
An Experienced Fly Fishing Guide/Instructor - Your instructor at Valley Anglers will help to make sure you find the best spots where the fish will be biting. Fly fishing hot spots differ for the species of fish, time of year, time of day, and temperature. It's the job of your instructor to take these factors into consideration while putting together the day's itinerary and making sure everyone on the trip has a fun and especially safe fishing environment.
Transporation - Valley Anglers provides safe and comfortable transportation of all personnel and equipment to the premier fishing spots from any requested location (hotels, inns, residences, etc.).
Food - Food can be provided upon request. Many people have specific individual food requests and conditions. For this reason, please put in your request for food 24 hours in advance of the trip.
All participants on the tour are required to have a Vermont State Fishing License. It is highly recommended to get this taken care of prior to the day of the trip as this will allow for more time on the river and less time running around making sure everyone is licensed. Valley Anglers strongly promotes a catch-and-release fishing method to help sustain the abundant Vermont wildlife, however, the Vermont state fishing license does provide the owner the right to keep any regulation-size fish that is caught. For information on license rates and fees, check https://www.vtfwdsales.com/. (NOTE: in order to print out the license from the website, you must have a PDF viewing program such as Adobe reader or similar)
